Acne is a multifaceted condition and what works for one person might not work for someone else. And in my experience, not only do the symptoms and treatment vary from person to person, but it can vary for the same individual during their lifetime. Acne treatment involves a few different treatment methods to get the best possible result. These include:
1. Nutrition. Ensuring your diet is suited to your needs is crucial. Sometimes it's a easy as removing one inflammatory food or correcting a nutritional deficiency to see results. Or it can be slightly more complex, which may require the elimination or inclusion of multiple foods. Jacinta also utilises functional pathology testing when required. This can include testing your hormones, gut microbiome and stress hormones.
2. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. This is to treat to skin from the inside out. Balancing hormones, regulating digestion, and managing stress levels are all an important part of acne treatment.
3. Lifestyle advice. Including stress management, exercise and sleep hygiene.
4. Referral to a skin/dermal therapist that specialises in therapeutic acne treatments.
